As women, we always get asked why it takes us so long to shower. Well between two rounds of shampoo, then conditioner, shaving, and leaving the shower smelling like fresh rain, it takes time, doesn’t it?
Well if you want to cut down your shower time, consider purchasing an epilator. Instead of shaving every other day, epilate once and keep that smooth finish for up to a month.
Epilating, similar to waxing, can be a painful process, but there are certainly ways to alleviate some discomfort. If you plan to epilate a spot with long hair, you may want to consider trimming before epilating.
Make sure you don’t have any cream or lotion on the skin to be epilated and be sure you don’t have any cuts, rashes, or broken skin. Also be careful with varicose veins.
There are also some epilators that simply go the extra mile in creating the least painful experience possible. The Panasonic ES-WD51-P has done a pretty good job.
There are a few things, across the board that make epilating a more pleasant experience.
One is that it is easier to epilate in wet conditions.
The second is that, if your skin is relaxed, the hairs will more easily release from the pores.
The third is that, if you shave the day before, the epilator can work more efficiently and will be less painful. Epilators actually do better with shorter hairs, hairs you may think are too short. The Panasonic ES-WD51 has you covered in all of these areas. Its features include:
It should be no secret that the more tweezers an epilator head has the more efficient it will be. The more hairs an epilator can remove at once, the less time you will spend epilating. The Panasonic ES-WD51 has forty-eight tweezers that remove hair from the root, slowing their regrowth and effectively stopping their growth altogether with time.
Wet or Dry
A great feature of the Panasonic ES-WD51 is that you can use it wet or dry. Using an epilator in the shower makes for a much more pleasant epilating experience. To take it one step further, you can use the Panasonic-WD51 with soap or gel as well.
Wet the head disc, add one drop of soap or gel, then turn on the epilator to activate the foaming action. When you slide the epilator along the skin, you will have a gentle, relaxed hair removal experience.
When the skin is warm, exfoliated, and relaxed, it does not hold so tightly to the roots of the hairs, which makes pulling them out easier.
This device is also cordless, of course. Water and electricity are not friends. So, in order to epilate in the shower or bath, you need a battery operated appliance. There is a potential downside to this, however.
The ES-WD51 takes about an hour to fully charge and gives you about forty minutes of use. If it takes you longer than forty minutes to epilate, you will have to stop for the hour to let it charge and pick it up again. But, realistically, forty minutes should be enough time to do what you need.
The Panasonic ES-WD51 has a skin guard on its head that holds the skin in place when epilating so that the tweezers do not pull the skin, only the hair. The tweezers are then better able to remove hairs from the roots for a longer-lasting result.
We have hair for protection, and the skin will hold on to those hairs because it knows that the hairs are there to protect it. In the current style, we like to remove that hair so we make the necessary strides to do what we can to make that process less painful.
Panasonic has done their best to bring you an efficient and less painful epilator.
Dual Disc Sliding Head
The Panasonic ES-WD51 has two discs on the head that slide side-to-side, which relaxes the skin and gently coaxes the hairs out of the roots. The discs also ease stress on the skin because there is never direct contact with the tweezers. In conjunction with the skin guard, they hold the skin down and push short hairs up so that the skin remains safely untouched while the short, fine hairs are sure to be removed the first time.
Nickel-Free Hypoallergenic Blades
Nickel is a very common allergen for people with sensitive skin. You will notice that jewelry labeled as “hypoallergenic” is normally nickel-free. Panasonic has recognized that epilating can be very irritating to the skin and, if you have sensitive skin, that can yield undesirable effects.
Including nickel-free blades shows Panasonic’s care for its customers and that they want you to have the best experience possible. Without that irritant, rashes, redness, and bumps are less likely to occur on both normal and sensitive skin types.
Epilators in general come with a few detachable head attachments. The Panasonic ES-WD51 is no different.
With this epilator you will also get a shaver head and a bikini trimming head. This makes the ES-WD51 a full hair removal system. There is not one spot that it can’t handle.
You will also get a travel bag for neat, safe, and clean storage or travel.
Pros and Drawbacks
Even though this is considered one of the best epilators around, it does come with a few disadvantages.
While the Panasonic ES-WD51 is one of the most versatile, efficient, and pleasant epilators to use, it does not come with a spotlight or multiple speed settings.
On many other epilators, a spotlight is what consumers rave most about. It keeps you from needing to set up a secondary light source while you epilate and certainly makes shower epilating easier. Without a spotlight, you need to rely on whatever light source you have, which can often be quite an eye strain and an inefficient way to epilate.
Also, only having one speed setting is a bummer. There are many women that have an easier time at a higher speed, and still others that prefer a slower speed. Without the choice, you just have to stick with what you have been given.
If you take care to prepare your skill appropriately, epilating can become a mild annoyance rather than a painful experience you want to avoid. With this epilator you have the best chance at something much less painful, fast, and effective. However, if you need a spotlight or a second speed setting, you will want to consider another product.
Given the fact that this is really expensive and they review was not favorable I would suggest looking at a best seller and read the Braun Silk 9 Review instead.
